It is relaxing to lie in a hammock under a tree in full leaf swaying and feeling a breeze blowing across your face. Worries and cares seem to recede. Thinking, dreaming and napping are the order of the day. For believers, God is that tree, steadfast and firm, a refuge from the harshness of the day, relief from life that batters us. He is utterly dependable and loves us with an unconditional, never failing love we can rest upon.
You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. – Isaiah 25:4a
