My dad taught me a careful craftsman will always measure twice and cut once. Taking the opportunity to measure the second time helps prevent wasting materials and can actually save time in the long run. In coloring, double checking that I picked up the correct pen and am working in the right area helps hold off mistakes. I am grateful I have friends who challenge me to measure myself against the standard of God’s Word, not just twice but regularly, and cut the harmful things from my life once and for all.
Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongue. Proverbs 17:22
